Invisalign in Calgary, AB (starting from $5000)

If you have misaligned teeth, you may have been putting off orthodontic treatment for one reason or another. Maybe you don’t think that a few teeth out of place is a big deal. Or maybe you don’t want to deal with a mouth full of metal. The fact is that there are many benefits to having straight teeth besides a more attractive smile. And, with advancements in dentistry, a new treatment is now available that can straighten teeth without cumbersome metal wires and brackets. Beddington Dental offers the Invisalign® treatment in Calgary to produce straight, beautiful smiles.

What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is a system of clear aligners that are worn in a specific order to gradually straighten teeth. Each aligner is custom-fit to your mouth and applies a specific and steady pressure on the teeth to change their position along the gumline.

Benefits of Invisalign®

While traditional metal braces are still a popular option and are very effective, Invisalign® offers many benefits.

Straight teeth benefit your oral health because they are easier to clean, making it easier to prevent cavities from forming.

Procedure

You will need to visit Beddington Dental for an initial consultation to have your teeth examined. During this visit, your dentist will create a treatment plan, mapping out the movement of the teeth and even providing a preview of the expected results. Impressions will then be taken of your teeth (using either a putty or digital technology) to create the custom aligners

For successful treatment, you will need to wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, changing aligners approximately weekly, according to your treatment plan. You will need to visit your dentist periodically to ensure that treatment is progressing as expected. The aligners can be taken out when brushing and flossing your teeth. When cleaning your teeth, you can also clean the aligners by brushing them gently and giving them a rinse.

Treatment time depends on the severity of the misalignment, but the average treatment time is 12 months. Once it has been completed, you will need to wear a retainer to prevent the teeth from shifting back into their original position.
